Legal issues and ethical issues?
If you want to make a piece of media you first need to make sure everything you are doing in production and advertisement is legal. This means you follow the rules of statutory obligations copyright laws and getting permission with what ever is needed. You must also have insurance for any damages or injuries if anything happens when filming. You must also have statements that people are happy with being filmed.
Copy wright is the legal right that protects the use of a person's work or your work. The copy right law lays out a set of rules that protect your work. It sets out the rights of the owners also the responsibility's of other people who want to use the work. Copyright allows the owner to have full control of the work for example reproduction performance and selling the work.
Another ethical isues that could arise might be use of misinformation or Is the information presented accurate, or does it spread false or misleading content Are facts manipulated or taken out of context
Its important to have health and safety rules when producing a movie or any other piece of media. It is your responsibility to make sure that all people working on the set cast and crew follow by the rules which is designed to protect them encase of any accidents or problems that may danger the health and well being of the person or multiple people.
Another problem that you may encounter could be when you release movies or other types of media to other countries. In some countries may need scripts be checked and approved by the authorities before shooting can commence. You could face restrictions on what cast members are allowed to wear or were you can film for example near famous buildings or religious buildings. An example of this could be the empire state building. Which you would need permission to include these places. Also, the use of stereotypes could offend some countries this could lead to them banning the movies or other types of media. An example of this could be Borat. This is a good example because it offended the Kazakhstan government which lead to them banning the movie.

If there is any problems with finance there could be changes to the media and the budget might have to decrease. This is a problem because it means you cant get any high quality cameras or any wages for producers actors and production team. This can lead to low quality product. Also the use of finance help with obtaining rights for anything you want to use for example any music used through out the media. This will effect the production of the media as a whole
Another factor for making a piece of media could the risks involved when creating the media. To start its important to asses the risks when making media. For example the safety for the cast and crew encase of any injuries or illnesses. This would effect the media because it could make the media a lower quality because of injured crew and cast. Also the use of as sessing risks could be if there is any financial problems. This helps because it allows the production to avoid any delays in costly risks or cuts in the budget.
